Instructions for Use Oxylog 3000 SW 1.n 55
Operation
CPAP, CPAP/ASB (CPAP/PS)
Continuous Positive Airway Pressure
Assisted Spontaneous Breathing
Spontaneous breathing can be assisted with ASB
and NIV.
Set the ventilation pattern with the controls below
the display:
– Maximum airway pressure Pmax.
–O
2 concentration O2.
The following is to be set on the display:
– Positive end expiratory pressure PEEP
Apnoea ventilation
Apnoea back-up ventilation is only applicable when
using the CPAP mode. In the event of an apnoea,
the ventilator will automatically activate
volume-controlled mandatory ventilation - IPPV
(CMV).
When an apnoea occurs, the device
simultaneously issues an alarm signal and
switches to volume controlled ventilation with the
parameters frequency fApnoea, tidal volume
VTApnoea, and the maximum airway pressure
Pmax when the apnoea time TApnoea has been
reached. The ventilation time ratio I:E is set to
1:1.5. The plateau time Tplat is 0. The patient can
breathe spontaneously during apnoea ventilation.
The mandatory frequency fApnoea remains
constant.
WARNING
Only use CPAP for patients with sufficient
spontaneous breathing.
Otherwise there is a risk of the patient
receiving insufficient ventilation.
