Installation
Cables with double shielding: in this
case, one shielding is connected to the
analyzer housing, the other shielding
to the external device. This is advanta-
geous when both units are supplied from
different grids (e.g. when installed in dif-
ferent buildings). Other precautions for
connections between buildings are the
use of ber optic cable.
This method is more expensive, but
gives the best protection against external
interference and against interference cur-
rents
.

2.7 Installation - Notes on wiring
X-STREAM XEGP with XSTA or XSTD ter-
minal adapters
In order to avoid measured values being
inuenced by external interference signals
when terminal adapters are in use, the signal
cable shieldings must be connected to the
analyzer housing by means of shield connec-
tor terminals:
The signal cable shielding is uncovered to a
length of 20 cm (8 in), the contact part of the
shield connector terminal pulled up, the cable
fed through as illustrated in Fig 2-17, and the
contact part brought down onto the shielding.
This results in a secure contact with the cable
shielding and improves the unit’s interference
resistance.
The individual wires are then connected as
described in seciton 2.6.

The shield connector must be properly or-
dered to t the cable diameter, and can be
retrotted:
Ø 1.5 - 6.5 mm: part # ETC02019
Ø 5 - 11 mm: part # ETC02020
Ø 10 - 17 mm: part # ETC02021
Ø 16 - 24 mm: part # ETC02022
