Transporting the
Printer
When you need to transport the printer to move or for
repairs, follow the steps below to pack the printer.
c
Important:
❏ Strong impacts may damage the printer.
❏ Leave the ink cartridge installed. Removing the
cartridge can dry out the print head and may
prevent the printer from printing.
❏ Do not leave the printer in direct sunlight, near
heaters, inside cars or other locations that are
subject to high temperatures. The printer may
be deformed or ink may leak.
A
Turn off the printer by pressing the P button.
B
Make sure the power light turns off, and then
unplug the power cord.
c
Important:
Unplug the power cord when the power light
is off. Otherwise, the print head does not
return to the home position causing the ink
to dry, and printing may become impossible.
C
Make sure there is no memory card inserted.
D
Disconnect all cables such as the power cord and
USB cable.
When using the optional battery, remove it.
E
Remove all of the paper from the printer.
F
Open the printer cover. Secure the ink cartridge
holder to the case with tape.
G
Prepare to pack the printer as shown below.
H
Pack the printer in its box, using the protective
materials.
Note:
When you use the printer again, make sure you
remove the tape securing the ink cartridge holder.
If print quality has declined the next time you
print, clean and align the print head.
