These packets assist the OptiView Console product in keeping its information
current. OptiView Console maintains a special list of all Fluke Networks' products
that are connected to the network and can even be used to launch a user interface
session on any OptiView
TM
analyzer.
OptiView Console is purchased separately. A 30 day evaluation copy can be
downloaded from www.flukenetworks.com.
Setting the Syslog Server IP Addresses
When a packet capture is started (Capture/Generate | Packet Capture Filter |
Start Capture), or when it is viewed (Capture/Generate | Packet Capture
Filter | View Capture), or when it is saved (Capture/Generate | Packet Capture
Filter | Save File...), information about that packet capture is sent to the syslog
server (also referred to as syslog collector) at the address(es) specified in these
fields. The information includes the number of packets and configuration
information about the packet capture filter.
Syslog server information is sent to port 514. Up to two IP addresses can be
specified.
Setting Data Encryption
Setting data encryption allows data being sent to and from a remote user interface
to be encrypted. The analyzer data encryption uses the AES 128 bit encryption
algorithm. You may enter the encryption key in Hex or ASCII. Both enter a 128-
bit encryption key. Anything less than 128 bits will be padded with 0's. ASCII is
provided to allow an easier method of remembering the encryption key.
To set the data encryption, in the Setup | Remote screen, press the
button. The Encryption Key dialog is displayed as shown below.
