11 Backup recovery and update
11.1 How to update your mobile phone?
In order to prevent the user data (such as contact, information, call records, etc.) in the
phone memory is deleted when upgrading, propose to backup phone data before
upgrading.
Online update: Please connect the mobile network or Wi-Fi before the online update.
Enter the settings screen, click " Updater > check for updates", after the detection of the new
version, according to the screen prompts to complete the update.
Local update: Access to HUAWEI's official website to download software update package,
put the package in the dload folder, and put this folder under the microSD root directory.
Then insert the microSD card into the phone. Refer to the update guide from the update
package to complete the update.
11.2 Mobile phone fails to update.
Please access to HUAWEI's official website to download the latest version of update package,
refer to the update guide to re-update.
Please connect the charger to the phone and then update. During the update process, the
battery power shortage will lead to the update failure.
If you use the microSD card to update, please do not unplug the microSD card when
upgrading.
If you still fail to update, it is recommended to restart the phone or backup important data
and then restore the factory settings.
If the problem still persists, please contact Huawei customer service or take your phone and
purchase invoice to a service center for inspection.
11.3 What data will be deleted when restore factory settings?
Restore factory settings will delete personal data on your phone, including mail accounts,
system settings, application settings, and installed applications.
