Transmission
Checking the Track Gearbox Oil Level
1 Prepare the Machine
Position the machine on level ground with the filler
plug A and level plug B positioned as shown.
2 Check the level on One Side
Clean the area around the filler and level plugs and
remove both plugs. Oil should run from hole B. Top up
through hole A if necessary. (Refer to Fluids and
Lubricants - Capacities and Specifications for oil
types.)
3 Clean and Refit the Plugs
Make sure they are tight.
4 Check the Level on the Other Side
Repeat steps 1 to 3.
Changing the Track Gearbox Oil
1 Prepare the Machine
See Checking the Track Gearbox Oil Level.
2 Drain the Oil on One Side
a Place a container below drain plug C to catch the
oil. The container must be large enough to hold
the maximum gearbox capacity (see Fluids and
Lubricants - Capacities and Specifications).
! CAUTION
Oil will gush from the hole when the drain plug is
removed. Keep to one side when you remove the drain
plug.

b Remove plugs A and C. Allow the oil to drain out.
c Wipe both the plugs clean. Make sure you remove
all metal particles.
d Refit drain plug C.
3 Fill with New Oil
Refer to Lubricants and Capacities for oil type and
volume.
a Remove level plug B.
b Pour new oil through filler plug A until oil runs out
of the level plug hole.
c Clean and refit plugs A and B, making sure they
are tight.
4 Drain the Oil on the Other Side
Repeat steps 1 to 3.
5 Check for Leaks
Run the machine, operate the tracking controls and
then make sure there are no leaks.
