7.1Performing checks and vehicle care when preparing for use

Before each use, check the state and roadworthiness of the vehicle.
Make sure that the vehicle is in perfect technical condition before use.
– Check the engine oil level. ( p. 140)
– Check the front brake fluid level. ( p. 89)
– Check the rear brake fluid level. ( p. 97)
– Check the front brake linings. ( p. 91)
– Check the rear brake linings. ( p. 100)
– Check the brake system function.
– Check the coolant level. ( p. 132)
– Check the chain for dirt. ( p. 73)
– Check the chain tension. ( p. 75)
– Check the tire condition. ( p. 110)
– Check the tire air pressure. ( p. 112)
– Check that all controls are correctly adjusted and free to move.
– Check that the electrical equipment is functioning correctly.
– Check that baggage is correctly secured.
– Sit on the motorcycle and check the rear mirror setting.
– Check the fuel level.
