12.39 Additionally securing the rubber grip
Preparatory work
– Check the rubber grip. ( p. 54)

– Secure the rubber grip at two points using the securing wire.

Wire twister forceps (U6907854)
The twisted wire ends face away from the hands and are bent toward the rub-
ber grip.
12.40 Adjusting the basic position of the clutch lever

– Adjust the basic position of the clutch lever to your hand size by turning adjusting
screw 1.

When the adjusting screw is turned clockwise, the clutch lever moves away
from the handlebar.
When the adjusting screw is turned counterclockwise, the clutch lever
moves closer to the handlebar.
The range of adjustment is limited.
Turn the adjusting screw by hand only, and do not apply force.
Do not make any adjustments while riding!
12.41 Checking fluid level of the hydraulic clutch

The fluid level rises with increasing wear of the clutch facing discs.

– Move the clutch fluid reservoir mounted on the handlebar to a horizontal position.
– Check the fluid level in viewer 1.
» If the fluid has dropped below marking A in the level viewer:
– Correct the fluid level of the hydraulic clutch. ( p. 55)

– Remove screws 1.
– Remove cover 2 with membrane 3.
– Add fluid to level A.

Brake fluid DOT 4 / DOT 5.1 ( p. 100)
– Position the cover with the membrane. Mount and tighten the screws.
