Preparatory work
– Deactivate the vehicle. ( p. 37)

– Mount the covering cap. ( p. 64)
– Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand. ( p. 49)

– Check the rear sprocket and motor sprocket for wear.
» If the rear sprocket and motor sprocket are worn:
– Change the power set.

The motor sprocket, rear sprocket, and chain should always be
replaced together.

Measure the distance
of 18 chain links in the lower chain section.

Chain wear is not always even, so you should repeat this measurement at
different chain positions.

The motor sprocket, rear sprocket, and chain should always be

– Check the chain sliding guard for wear.
» If the lower edge of the chain pin is at the level of or below the chain sliding
guard:
– Change the chain sliding guard.
– Check that the chain sliding guard is firmly seated.
» If the chain sliding guard is loose:
– Tighten the screws on the chain sliding guard.

Remaining screws, chassis M6 10 Nm
