13.1 Checking the free travel of the front brake lever
Warning
Danger of accidentsThe brake system fails in the event of overheating.
If there is no free travel on the front brake lever, pressure builds up on the front brake circuit.
Set the free travel on the front brake lever in accordance with the specification.

Push the front brake lever forward and check free travel

Free travel on the front brake lever 3 mm ( 0.12 in)
» If the free travel does not match the specification:
Adjust the basic position of the front brake lever. ( p. 71)

13.2 Adjusting the basic position of the front brake lever(Freeride ESX)

Adjust the basic position of the front brake lever using adjusting screw
.
Info
Turn the adjusting screw clockwise to increase the distance between the
front brake lever and the handlebar.
Turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise to decrease the distance between
the front brake lever and the handlebar.
The range of adjustment is limited.
Only turn the adjusting screw by hand, and do not use force.
Do not make any adjustments while riding.
13.3 Adjusting the free travel of the front brake lever(Freeride EXC)

Adjust the free travel of the front brake lever with adjusting screw

Info
Turn the adjusting screw clockwise to reduce free travel. The pressure point
moves away from the handlebar.
Turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise to increase free travel. The pres-
sure point moves towards the handlebar.
The range of adjustment is limited.
Only turn the adjusting screw by hand, and do not use force.
Do not make any adjustments while riding.
