In cases where the operator is permitted by his local regulatory authority to operate in
additional bands not specified by the regulation in his country, a licensing mechanism is
available to enable opening additional bands for use in the radio device.
In cases where the installation / setup process is performed without GNSS reception, the
installer is allowed to manually select the country in which the radio is located. When GNSS
fix is obtained by the radio, the radio will automatically set the country and regulation to the
one detected by GNSS. If the installer manually selected a regulation band that is not
supported in the current country, the link will be stopped and the installer will have to select
an allowed band.
1.2.3 Management Tools
To configure your system, you need to connect an ODU to a PC running either RADWIN
Manager or use the browser user interface, depending on the ODU as follows:
RADWIN 2000 Alpha, RADWIN 2000 E - use the browser user interface
RADWIN 2000 A-Plus, 2000 C-Plus, 2000 D-Plus - use RADWIN Manager
From RADWIN Manager release 11.0 and above, if RADWIN Manager detects that the
managed device supports the browser UI, it redirects users to use the browser UI
instead.
RADWIN Browser User Interface
The browser user interface enables you to easily perform ODU and/or link management
functions using a browser, including:
Set or change ODU parameters in the field
Establish a sector
Check link parameters and make changes
View the link inventory
Inspect the recent events logs
RADWIN Manager
The RADWIN Manager is an SNMPbased management application that manages a
complete sector over a single IP address.
It also contains an NMS tool which is required for upgrading, backing up, and restoring
multiple devices.
