1st display instruction
Descaling
Descaling message
When the machine needs to be descaled, a corresponding instruction appears on the display.
The interval between descaling procedures depends on the following factors:
• Water hardness
• Water flow rate
• Use of a water filter
Danger of poisoning from ingesting or inhaling the descaler.
Do not drink or inhale the descaler or the rinse water output during the descaling pro-
cess.
Household descalers can destroy the coffee machine.
Only use Schaerer descaler for descaling. Liability cannot be accepted for damage re-
sulting from the use of other descalers.
Option: Resetting the descaling instruction
When the 1st display instruction for descaling appears, descaling must be performed within a
week. During this week, the 1st display instruction can be overridden.

The "Ready for use" window appears and the machine is ready for use again.
Option: Mandatory descaling
If descaling is not performed within one week after the 1st display instruction appears, bever-
age dispensing is blocked. The 2nd display request cannot be reset.
2nd display instruction
Descaling preparations
The following utensils are needed for the descaling process:
Option 1: With drip tray
• 2 bottles of Schaerer liquid descaler (0.75 dl each).
• 5 l collecting containers.
• Drinking water tank
• Sufficient drinking water for rinsing.
• The multi-tool and a screwdriver (size 3) for switching from mains water supply to drinking
water tank (optional).
Option 2: With waste water outlet
• 2 bottles of Schaerer liquid descaler (0.75 dl each).
• Drinking water tank
• Sufficient drinking water for rinsing.
• The multi-tool and a screwdriver (size 3) for switching from mains water supply to drinking
water tank (optional).
Starting the descaling programme
The entire descaling procedure takes ca. 80 min
