Pulse encoder module cabling
Fibre optic link
A DDCS fibre optic link is provided via the RDCO optional module for PC tools,
master/follower link, NDIO, NTAC, NAIO, AIMA I/O module adapter and fieldbus
adapter modules of type Nxxx. See RDCO User’s Manual [3AFE64492209
(English)] for the connections. Observe colour coding when installing fibre optic
cables. Blue connectors go to blue terminals, and grey connectors to grey terminals.
When installing multiple modules on the same channel, connect them in a ring.

Clamp as close to the terminals as

Note 1: If the encoder is of unisolated
type, ground the encoder cable at the
drive end only. If the encoder is
galvanically isolated from the motor
shaft and the stator frame, ground the
encoder cable shield at the drive and
the encoder end.
Note 2: Twist the pair cable wires.
Note 3: The grounding wire of the outer
shield of the cable can alternatively be
connected to the SHLD terminal of the
RTAC module.
