Note: All Sprint protein
methods are created in the
CEM Corporation laboratory
by trained laboratory
personnel. If a sample
produces incorrect protein
values, a bias (correction
factor) can be entered to
assist in obtaining proper
results.
To obtain a bias, test the
sample by both an AOAC
approved method and
the CEM Sprint method.
Perform at least 5 or more
tests to check repeatability.
Average the results of the
ve tests by each method.
Subtract the average of
the Sprint results from
the average of the AOAC
approved method. Enter
the resulting number as the
bias.
Bias = Sprint Avg. - AOAC
avg.
9. Use the “right”
arrow key to select
“Edit.”Press the “Enter”
key.
10. Use the arrow keys and
the “Enter” key to select
and enter the desired
bias. Once the bias
is entered, press the
“Accept” key to store
the bias for the method
in memory.
Result Precision
11. Use the arrow keys to
highlight (select) “Result
Precision.”
12. Use the “down” arrow
key to display the result
precision selections.
13. Use the arrow keys to
select two (2) or three
(3) decimal places
for displaying method
results.
14. Press the “Enter” key.

3. Using the arrows, select
the appropriate method
to edit and press the
“Enter” key.
2. Using the arrow keys,
select the appropriate
method folder and press
the “Enter” key.
The “Edit Method” screen
consists of:
· Method Parameters
· Sample Details
· Run Details
Method Parameters
Method Name
4. If a new name is
desired for the edited
method, use the “down”
arrow key to highlight
“Method Name.”
5. Use the “right” arrow
key to highlight (select)
“Edit” to edit the method
name.
6. Using the arrow keys
and the “Enter” key,
select the new name
for the method. Note:
“Shift” controls the
capital and lower
case lettering. “BS”
(backspace) erases the
last letter.
7. Once the new method
name is properly
selected, press the
“Accept” key.
Method Bias
8. If a bias is needed for
the edited method,
using the “down” arrow
key, select “Bias.”
