Error messages What to do
Paper Out
Load paper in paper cassette.
Confirm that no paper is being printed, then remove the paper cassette and load the
paper.

Paper Out
Press the Y button.
Press the Y button, then load the roll paper.

If you run out of paper while printing, the remaining data is printed once you load new
paper. If you want to print from the beginning on the new paper instead of continuing
from where the job was paused, press the W button and select Job Cancel. After that,
load new paper and do the print operation again.
Paper Sensor Error
Loaded paper or print out has a
problem.
Refer to manual for details.
If this error is displayed when performing automatic head alignment, check the
following items.
❏ Did you load paper that is not supported for automatic head alignment?
Automatic head alignment cannot be performed with plain paper or thick paper.
❏ Did you load paper that is smaller than A4 size?
Load paper that is of A4 size or larger.
❏ Are some print head nozzles clogged?
Execute head cleaning.

If this error is displayed at any other time besides when performing automatic head
alignment, make sure that the paper loaded is supported by the printer. The printer
cannot print correctly on paper such as tracing paper or transparencies.
Paper Source Error
Cut sheet is loaded.
Remove it and change paper
source to roll paper.
Press the Z button to clear the message, and then remove the cut sheets from the
printer and change the source in the Paper Type Menu.
Paper Source Error
Roll paper is loaded.
Remove it and change paper
source to cut sheet.
Press the Z button to clear the message, and then remove the roll paper from the
printer and change the source in the Paper Type Menu. When Auto Roll Feeding is set
to Off from the Menu, you cannot change the paper type when roll paper is fed.

When a Maintenance Call/Service Call Occurs

A part used in the printer is nearing the end of its service life.
Contact your dealer or Epson Support and tell them the maintenance request code.
You cannot clear the maintenance request until the part is replaced. A service call
occurs if you continue to use the printer.
