9. Cleaning
!
The unit, blood pressure cuff and related accessories should be regularly cleaned,
if required, daily.
Important !!
Be sure to disconnect the power cord prior to cleaning the unit.
9.1 Cleaning the Unit

Use a soft cloth moistened with a mild cleanser to wipe off the unit as needed.
Ensure that the cloth is not fully saturated. A fully saturated cloth may allow
liquid to enter the unit and cause a defect.
Do not use strong household cleaners or alcoholic disinfec-
tants to clean the unit. This may lead to defects and/or dam-
age the finish of unit, upholstery and/or cuff.
9.2 Cleaning the Blood Pressure Cuff

The blood pressure cuff may also be cleaned with a mild soapsuds. For disinfection
of the cuff, only alcoholic disinfectants may be used. Other disinfectants, or the use of
strong cleansers may damage the cuff and lead to defects.
The microphone should also be cleaned at regular intervals.
To clean the microphone, remove it from its pocket in the
cuff.
For cleaning, only use a mild detergent or alcohol.
After cleaning, rinse the cuff surface with distilled
water.
After cleaning, pay attention to correct microphone position in the red pocket of the
cuff.
The brass coloured side of microphone points at the arteria.
Cuff and hose must never be soaked in cleansers or disinfectants.

Defects caused by improper detergent and disinfectants as well as de-
fects originating from insufficient cleaning of the unit are excluded from
the guarantee.
