Install the cartridge
Cartridges are not preinstalled on new
torches.
1. Make sure that the power switch on
the plasma power supply stays
OFF (O).
2. Make sure that the torch-lock switch
on the torch is set to the yellow
lock (X) position.
3. If this is a new torch, remove the vinyl
cap from the torch.
4. Install the correct Hypertherm
cartridge for your cutting or gouging
application.
 Cutting and piercing with a
hand torch: Refer to Select
the correct cutting cartridge
on page 96.
 Gouging with a hand torch:
Refer to Select the correct
gouging cartridge on
page 111.
 Cutting, piercing, and
gouging with a machine
torch: Refer to the
Powermax65/85/105 SYNC
Mechanized Cutting Guide (810480).
Tighten 1/4 turn to install.
