4. Install the ground plane:
a. Insert the tab on the left rear corner of the ground plane into the slot in the left corner of the printer.
b. Rotate the right side of the ground plane into place while guiding the tab on the right rear corner
into its mounting slot on the right rear corner.
Important: Ensure the tabs on each corner of the ground plane are in their slots. If the tabs are
not inserted into their slots, the printer will not be properly grounded which could result
in damage to the electronics or the printer malfunctioning.
c. Rotate the end of the ground plane into place aligning the mounting holes with the holes in the
cross member of the fiscal base.
d. While holding the ground plane in place, use two screws to secure the ground plane and fiscal
base to the printer.
5. Turn the printer over and install the paper door and main cover (see “Installing the paper door cover”
on page 42 and “Installing the main cover” on page 46 for information).
6. Install the fiscal tray (see “Installing the fiscal tray” on page 29 for information).
Removing the paper motion sensor
This section provides the information needed to remove the paper motion sensor from a fiscal or fiscal
ready printer.
Attention: When you handle static-sensitive devices, take precautions to avoid damage from static
electricity. For details about handling these devices, see “Handling static-sensitive devices” on page 27.
To remove the paper motion sensor, complete the following steps:
1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the power and signal cables from the rear of the printer.
2. Press the paper door release button to open the paper door (see Figure 17 on page 41 for the location
of the paper door release button).
