Removing the thermal printhead flat cable
This section provides the information needed to remove the thermal printhead flat cable from a fiscal or
fiscal ready printer.
To remove the thermal printhead flat cable A (Figure 27), complete the following steps:
1. Remove both the paper door and main covers (see “Removing the paper door cover” on page 41 and
“Removing the main cover” on page 44 for instructions).
2. Remove the logic card (see “Removing the logic card” on page 54 for information on how to remove
the logic card).
Note: Do not disconnect any cables other than the thermal printhead flat cable from the logic card.
3. Remove the thermal printhead (see “Removing the thermal printhead” on page 51).
4. Remove the cable A (Figure 27) from the printer.
Note: Be sure to note the orientation of the flat cable, paying close attention to the blue stripe and
orientation of the contacts B (Figure 27) on each end of the cable.
Installing the thermal printhead flat cable
This section provides the information needed to install the thermal printhead flat cable in a fiscal or fiscal
ready printer.
Notes:
1. Notice that one end of the cable is longer than the other. The longer end should be installed in to the
printhead.
2. Orient the cable with the longest leg is facing away from you.
3. Do not reverse flip the cable during installation.
