14-10. UPS (40003292)
If the UPS function cannot be used or is not used, the UPS function can be stopped by turning
OFF the UPS bypass switch on the electrical component unit.
14-10-1. Checking the UPS Battery (E9659729A000) Voltage
If the power is not supplied to the machine for an extended period of time, the UPS battery may run
out. If the machine has not been used for an extended period of time (for 3 months or longer),
follow the steps below to check the battery voltage.
• Checking the UPS battery voltage
c Turn off the power to the main unit. To prevent an electric shock or other accident, it is
recommended to turn off the power on the factory side.
d Remove the bundle of cables connected to the rear of the UPS.
e Remove the screw shown in the photo below to demount the UPS from the power unit.

UPS (and the
steel plate)

Front cover fixing screw
f Remove the two screws shown in the photo
above to detach the UPS front cover as
shown in the left photo.
g The electrodes of the battery appear as
shown in the photo below. Measure the
potentials using a multimeter or other
instrument.
Be careful to keep the measuring pins
from contact with the steel plate while
measuring the potentials.
Rev. 2.00
h Check to make sure that the result of
measurement is 12.5 V or greater.
i If the result of measurement is less than 12.5 V,
charge the UPS by supplying the power to the
main unit until the battery voltage exceeds 12.5 V.
If the battery voltage is 12.5 V or above, it is judged that the battery is in a fully
charged condition.
The UPS is charged by turning on both the main unit main breaker and the main
switch.
(Turing on only the main breaker does not apply the 100 Vac power to the UPS
input.)
