Model 2100 6 1/2-Digit Resolution Digital Multimeter User’s Manual Section 4: Front Panel Operations
To set the resolution from the front panel:
Method A:
1. Select the desired measurement function by pressing one of the function keys located on
the first row of your meter's front panel (the locations of the keys are shown with red frames
in Figure 4-3).
2. Press the DIGITS key to select the resolution for your measurement. You can press the
DIGITS key several times to see how the resolution setting changes from 4 1/2, 5 1/2, to 6
1/2.
NOTE When using Method A to set the resolution, your options are 4 1/2 (slow), 5 1/2 (slow),
and 6 1/2 (fast).
Method B:
1. Press the CONFIG key and select one of the following functions: DCV, DCI (SHIFT + DCV),
 2,  4 (SHIFT +  2), FREQ, and PERIOD (SHIFT + FREQ).
2. Select the RESOLUTION submenu and press ENTER. If it is not shown on the display, use
the PREV or NEXT keys to locate it.
3. Use the PREV and NEXT keys to find the desired resolution. Press ENTER on your choice.
NOTE The resolution of AC measurements is fixed at 6 1/2 digits.
NOTE The options for frequency and period measurements are 4 1/2 (slow), 5 1/2 (slow), and 6
1/2 (slow).

How to set the resolution using the remote interface:
Use the following commands on your PC terminal to set the resolution for your measurement:
CONFigure:<function> <range>,<resolution>
MEASure:<function>? <range>,<resolution>
SENSe:<function>:RESolution <resolution>
DC input resistance
Definition
To reduce the effect of loading errors due to the input resistance, the Model 2100 allows you to
select a much larger input resistance (> 10G ) for low input DC voltage (100mV, 1V, and 10V)
