Single trigger
Trigger source
You can specify one of three trigger-source options for the Model 2100: front panel, external
hardware trigger source, and remote interface.
Front panel operation
Use the front panel AUTO TRIGGER key for auto triggering, and the SINGLE key for single
triggering.
External hardware
You can apply a trigger pulse from an external hardware source connected to the Ext TRIG (BNC)
terminal on the rear panel. Press both the SHIFT + SINGLE keys to enable the external hardware
trigger (the “EXT” and annunciator on the display is lit when the external hardware trigger is
enabled).
External Triger Terminal
You can trigger the Model 2100 by using a low-true pulse to the Ext Trig (external trigger) terminal
located on the rear panel. And to use this terminal via the remote interface, you have to select the
external trigger source by using the TRIGer:SOURce EXTernal command.
NOTE You can use a simple switch to generate an external trigger by using the Ext Trig input
(see
Figure 4-11).
