3.17Initialsetupprocedures
Onceyourdisplayhasbeeninstalledand
commissioned,Raymarinerecommendsthatyou
completetheStartupwizardandperformsome
additionalprocedures.
Startupwizard
Whenyoupower-upthedisplayforthersttimeor
afterasystemresetaStartupWizardisdisplayed.
Thewizardguidesyouthroughthefollowingbasic
congurationsettings:
1.Language
2.Boattype
3.CongureUnits(Unitsofmeasure)
4.BoatDetails
Note:Thesesettingscanalsobesetatanytime
usingthemenusaccessiblefromHomescreen
>Customize.
Additionalsettings
InadditiontothesettingscoveredbytheWizard,
itisalsorecommendedthatthefollowinginitialset
uptasksarecompleted:
•Setyourdateandtimepreferences.
•Designatethedatamaster.
•SelecttheGPSdatasource.
•Familiarizeyourselfwiththeproductusing
SimulatorMode.
Warning:MinimumSafeDepth,
BeamandHeight
Dependingoncartographyvendor,the
minimumsafesettingsareusedduring
automaticroutegeneration,theyareused
torestrictcreatedroutesfromentering
waterthatisnotsuitableforthevessel.
Dataistakenfromcompatiblecartography.
Minimumsafesettingsareuserdened
calculations.Asbothofthesefactors
areoutsideofRaymarine’scontrol;
Raymarinewillnotbeheldliablefor
anydamage,physicalorotherwise,
resultingfromtheuseoftheautomatic
routegenerationfeatureortheMinimum
SafeDepth,MinimumSafeBeamor
MinimumSafeHeightsettings.
Minimumsafevesseldepth
AspartoftheInitialstartupwizardtheMinimum
SafeDepthvaluecanbeset.
MinimumSafeDepthcanbeestablishedbyadding
together:
•MaximumVesselDraft(i.e.thedistancefromthe
waterlinetothelowestpointofavessel’skeel.)
•SafetyMargin(anadequateclearancebelowthe
keeltoallowfordraftvariationandchangesin
waterorbottomconditions.)
