2.3 Serial Programming Interface using SCI
The following diagram shows the typical connectivity of the serial programming interface using SCI.

Note: 1. The output of the reset circuit of the user system must be open collector.
2. The MD pin is not part of the Serial Programming Interface using SCI. However the MD pin must
be set to low to enable serial programming mode.
