10 Faults and malfunctions
10.1 Troubleshooting
The controller on the Gas condensing boiler detects faults and
indicates them on the display using error codes.
We differentiate between two types:
– Non-interlocking fault: Error code + Symbol
– Interlocking fault: Error code + Symbol
Troubleshooting
Ɣ Detecting and remedying the cause of the malfunction.
Ɣ Interlocking fault: Press the button on the controller
>2 sec to remove the interlock.
Ɣ Non-interlocking malfunctions are indicated as long as there
is a malfunction. Once the cause has been eliminated, the
unit continues to work normally.
Ɣ Consult your ROTEX service department in the event of
queries.
10.2 Failures
WARNING!
Work on power or gas lines can endanger life and
health and hinder the operation of the ROTEX GW.
Ɣ Work within the ROTEX GW only by authorised
heating technicians.
Ɣ Observe the safety instructions and handling
instructions in this instruction manual.

Non-interlocking fault or cancellation of a special function

Ɣ Check the operating mode setting.
Ɣ Check the request parameters.
Heating does not
warm up enough
Temperature setting for operating mode "room
heating" is too low
Ɣ Increase room nominal temperature.
Burner output too low
Ɣ Check the burner status and output setting in the
controller. Adapt the settings to suit or install a unit with
a higher heat output.
Hot water preparation active
Ɣ End hot water draw-off.
Hot water does not
warm up
Operating mode "hot water" deactivated
Ɣ Check the operating mode setting.
Ɣ Check the request parameters.
Hot water does not
heat up enough.
Temperature setting for operating mode "hot
water" is too low
Ɣ Increase the target hot water temperature.
Draw-off rate too high
Ɣ Reduce the draw-off rate, limit throughput.
Burner output too low
Ɣ Install a unit with a higher heat output.
Burner does not start Interlocking malfunction
Ɣ Determine and repair the cause for the malfunction.
Ɣ Press the button on the controller >2 sec to remove
the interlock.
Burner fan not running
despite burner
demand
No mains voltage on burner fan
Ɣ Connect the 3-pin connector securely to the blower.
Ɣ Check the voltage at the terminals of the connectors.
Ɣ Check the plug X11 on the controller and plug in
correctly.
No communication to the burner blower
Ɣ Connect the 5 pin connector securely to the blower.
Ɣ Check the plug X6 on the controller and plug in
correctly.
Fan motor faulty
Ɣ Replace the burner blower.
