FA ROTEX GW - 09/2012
11 x Decommissioning
11 Decommissioning
11.1 Temporary shutdown
If a heating or hot water supply is not to be required for a longer
period of time, it is possible to temporarily shut down the ROTEX
GW. However, ROTEX recommends leaving the plant in standby
mode (see Chapter 6 "Operation") and cancelling the heating
and hot water supply functions. The heating system is then
protected from frost. The pumps and valve protection functions
are active.
If there is a danger of frost, and the gas and power supply cannot
be guaranteed, then
the ROTEX GW must be completely drained on the water
side or
suitable anti-frost measures are taken.
Draining the heating circuit and plate heat exchanger
Ɣ Interrupt the mains power supply to the ROTEX GW.
Ɣ Close the gas isolator valve.
Ɣ Close off the cold water supply.
Ɣ Disconnect the heating flow and return and the cold water
feed and hot water outlet from the ROTEX GW.
Ɣ Drain the boiler.
To do this, open the drain valve that directs out of the base
of the unit between the heating return and the cold water
connection, and is connected to the hose spigot (hexa-
gon) (fig. 4-12, item H) by 1/2 a turn.
Ɣ Allow the plate heat exchanger on the ROTEX GW to empty
using the siphon principle.
Ɣ Drain the heating and hot water network.
11.2 Final shutdown
For the final shutdown, the ROTEX GW must be:
Ɣ decommissioned (see chapter 11.1),
Ɣ disconnect it from all electrical, gas and water connections,
Ɣ disposed off in a professional manner.
Recommendations for disposal
The ROTEX GW is designed to be environmentally friendly.
During the disposal process, the only waste created is that which
can be used for material or thermal recycling. The materials used
that are suitable for recycling can be sorted into individual types.
CAUTION!
A heating system which is not protected can freeze in
the event of frost and may suffer damage.
Ɣ If there is a risk of frost, empty any water from the
system.
With an undrained heating system, and in the event
of a danger of frost, the gas and power supply must
be ensured, and the frost protection function must
be activated in the parameter settings (see
chapter 6.5).
ROTEX, thanks to the environmentally friendly design
of the Gas condensing boiler, has established the
preconditions to ensure environmentally friendly
disposal. Proper disposal in compliance with the
respective national regulations of the country of use is
the responsibility of the user/owner.
