Reverse gear, ZF
IMPORTANT:
Never over-fill the reverse gear. The oil level must
always be within the recommended range.
Oil level, checking and filling
Check the oil level with the engine stopped, at least two
minutes after the engine has been stopped.
1 Pull out and dry off the dipstick (1) and insert in the
reversing gear again.
2 Pull out the dipstick again and check the oil level.
The correct level is between the MAX and MIN
markings on the dipstick.
3 Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes with
the control lever in the neutral position. Stop the
engine and check the oil level again.
4 Add oil as needed via the inlet orifice (2) on the top
of the reversing gear. For oil grade and quantity,
refer to Technical Data, page 143.
