Battery replacement
This multimeter is powered by a 9 V Ni- MH rechargeable
battery (7.2 nominal voltage) or 9 V Ni- MH rechargeable
battery (8.4 V nominal voltage). Use only the specified type
(refer to Figure 5- 1 below). Alternatively you may also use a
9 V Alkaline battery (ANSI/NEDA 1604A or IEC 6LR61) or a
9 V Carbon- zinc battery (ANSI/NEDA 1604D or IEC6F22) to
power the U1253B.
To ensure that the multimeter performs as specified, it is
recommended that you replace the battery as soon as the
low- battery indicator is displayed flashing. If your
multimeter has a rechargeable battery inside, please go to
“Charging the battery” on page 126. The procedures for
battery replacement are as follows:
