This data format can only be read or written by Blu-ray drives.
Blu-ray is an optical storage medium which comes in three different types:
• BD-ROM: These data c ann ot be changed, but can be read as often as desired.
• BD-R: The data memory can only be written once. Afterwards the data
can be read as often as desired.
• BD-RE: The data memory can be written and re-written virtually any number of
times, so the data can be deleted and/or changed.
The maximum memory capacity is 25 - 50 GBytes of data (25 GBytes pe r memory layer).
Handling data carriers
Observe t he following guidelines whe n handling data carriers:
• Avoid touching the surf ace of a data carrier. Only handle data carriers by their edges.

• Always store the data carrier in
its c ase. This will prevent the
data carrier from being damaged

• Protect your data carriers against dust, mechanical vibrations and direct sunlight.
• Avoid storing a data carrier in a
reas subject to high temperatures or humidity.
In order to make use of the fu ll recording speed of your drive, please use
blank disks marke d "Multispeed" or "High Speed".

Your notebook is equipped with a multi-format DVD drive with double layer support.
Please ask your local computer s tore for assistance if you are not sure which CD or DVD type
suits best for your needs, e. g. backing up data, recording films, storing pictures etc..

With the multi-format DVD burner with dou ble layer support you can read all optical
data storage media named above. You can also write CD-Rs, CD-RWs, DVD+Rs,
DVD+RWs, DVD-Rs, DVD-RWs and DVD+R DLs.
Blu-ray d rive (drive-dependent)
Your notebook’s Blue-ray drive will allow you to enjoy high-definition films with a
previously unparallelled quality. For maximum enjoyment we recommend connecting
an external monitor via the HD M I port of your AMILO.
