Using the Security Lock (docking - cradle only)

Your docking cradle (optional) is equipped with a Security Lock device for a Kensington Lock
Cable. You can use the Kensington L ock Cable, a sturdy steel cable, to protect your docking
- cradle against theft. The Ken sington Lock Cable is available as an accessory.

Configuring password protection in BIOS Setup Utility
Before using the various options for password protection in the BIOS Setup
Utility, please proceed as follows to increase d ata security:
Make a note of the passwords and kee p them in a safe place. If you forget your
supervisor password you will not be able to access your Tablet PC. Passwords are
not covered by your warranty and a charge will be made for assistance.

Your password can be up to 32 characters long an d can contain letters, numbers and
special characters. A distinction is made between up per and lower case.
Protecting BIOS Setup Utility (supervisor password
and user password)
If you have o pened these operating instructions on the screen, we recommend
that yo u print them out. You cannot call up the inst ructions on the screen
while you are setting up the password.

The s upervisor password and the u ser password bo th prevent unauthorized use of the BIOS
Setup Utility. The supervisor password allows you to access all of the f unct ions of the BIOS Setup
Utility, while the user password will only give you access to some of the fun ctions. You can
only set up a user p assword if a supervisor password has already b een assigned.
