Note: This can only be used when the phone line monitor is
enabled on the panel.
If you want to use the Voice over GSM as the primary means
of reporting, program a ‘10’ in front of the phone number.
Use the latest panel software. All programming is done via
the panel.
Protocol Select Installer Menu>Control Panel>Communication>Central
Station>Phone Numbers>Phone Number n>Protocol.
Note:
Use any of the panel protocols (SIA, ContactID).
Backup Select Installer Menu>Control Panel>Communication>Phone Number
>Phone Number n>Events>Communications>Test Reports.
Note: Use GSM reporting as backup.
Using the GSM/GPRS module
This section provides information on using the GSM/GPRS GPRS module.
Obtaining the GSM/GPRS module status
System status information is GSM/GPRS specific.
1. Enter programming mode.
2. Navigate with the keys to NX-7002 Module>Options>Status Check and press OK.
3. Scroll through the status messages to view the current status of the module. Table 26,
Status messages explains each status message.
Table 26. Status messages
Message Description
GSM Connection GSM Engine Comms The modem is responding to AT commands.
SIM PIN Accepted The SIM is valid and programmed correctly.
Logged into GSM Network The SIM has been enrolled on the GSM network.
SIM PUK Required
The SIM PIN code is blocked. Put the SIM into a mobile phone and enter
the PUK code to unblock it.
