C. TRANSMISSION
Travel Reduction Gear
WARNING:
• Each component of the travel reduction gear
may be hot immediately after operation. Allow
components to cool before starting to work on
them.
• The travel reduction gear may be pressurized.
Be sure to release the internal pressure by
slowly loosen the air bleed plug two to three
turns before removing the plug. Failure to do
so may cause the plug and/or gear oil to fly out,
possibly resulting in personal injury. Keep
body and face away from the air bleed plug.
Check Oil Level --- every 250 hours
1.
Park the machine on a level surface.
2. Rotate the travel motor until plugs are positioned
as illustrated on the right. Stop the engine.
3. Slowly loosen plug (1) to release pressure.
4. Remove plugs (1 and 2). Check that oil flows out of
the thread hole for plug (2). If no oil flows out, add
oil until oil flows out of the plughole.
5. After cleaning plugs (1 and 2), and install the plugs
(1 and 2).
Tightening torque: 34.3±4.9 N⋅m
(3.5±0.5 kgf⋅m, 25.3±3.6 lbf⋅ft).
