DRIVING THE MACHINE
4-1
TRAVEL LEVERS
Travel operation can be performed with the mechanical
levers.
WARNING: In the standard traveling position, the
front idlers are located in front of the operator’s
seat and the travel motors at the rear. If the travel
motors are positioned at the front of the machine,
when the travel levers or pedals are operated in
the direction as illustrated on the operation
decals, the travel direction of the machine will be
reversed. Be sure to confirm the position of the
travel motors before traveling.
NOTE: Travel lever dampers are provided for smooth
control. In extremely cold weather (lower than
-20 °C), the travel lever will become heavy to
operate. This is caused by increase in oil
viscosity which is not abnormal.
• Forward/Reverse Travel
Move both levers forward together to travel forward.
Pull the levers back together to travel in reverse. The
travel speed can be controlled by adjusting the lever
operating stroke.
• Ascending/Descending Slopes
The machine gradeability is 30° (58%). Slowly operate
the travel levers when descending a slope. When the
travel levers are placed in neutral, the travel brakes
are automatically applied to stop the machine.
