CLEANING
Be careful to avoid damaging the screen.
Clean the carbon deposits from the spark arrester
screen [1] with a wire brush [2].
Check the spark arrester screen for damage. If the
screen is damaged, replace the spark arrester.
Install the spark arrester in the reverse order of
removal.
IDLE SPEED CHECK/ADJUSTMENT
Start the engine and allow it to warm up to normal
operating temperature. For units equipped with auto
throttle, turn the auto throttle switch ON.
Turn the throttle stop screw [1] to obtain the specified
idle speed.
VALVE CLEARANCE CHECK/
ADJUSTMENT
Remove the head cover bolt [1], the head cover [2], and
the head cover packing [3].
IDLE SPEED: 1,400 ± 150 min
