Managing device power redundancy
If you are using HP ProLiant servers with iLO 2 v2.0 or newer firmware or iLO 3 v1.05 or newer firmware
and HP ProLiant 94% efficiency common slot power supplies with PLC power cables, devices are
automatically grouped. Up to eight power supplies can be grouped (four on each iPDU) per device. N+N
redundancy is supported. Alerts occur when an unequal number of power supplies for a device are
detected or manually entered on each iPDU.
To manually manage power redundancy for a device:
1. Locate the load segment and outlet to which the device is connected for both iPDU Feed A and iPDU
Feed B.
2. Navigate to the Outlet Device Assignment screen ("Outlet Device Assignment menu" on page 45) for
each iPDU Feed and enter unique device data for the load segment and outlet to which the device is
connected. The UUID (GUID) is used for redundancy identification and must be unique to that
device.
3. Save the settings.
The iPDUs group these outlets enabling device level control.
For more information about using the redundancy features, see "Control tab (on page 43)."
