5-10. Replacing the Stopper Cylinder
(1) Loosen the nut f at the top end of the rod.
(2) Remove the mounting nut d.
(3) Turn the cylinder shaft c to detach the cylinder c from the stopper clevis e.
(4) When installing a new stopper cylinder, reassemble the components in the order of steps (3) to
(1).
Make sure that the cylinder c is aligned along the slot on the stopper frame and moves
smoothly.
Apply Loctite 277 to the air cylinder screw. Assemble the components so that the distance from
the nut end face of the cylinder c to the end face of the stopper clevis e is as shown in the
figure below.
A=16.4 ± 0.1 mm
(5) Adjust the opening of the speed controller.
To adjust the speed controller, tighten the screw fully, and then open it only one rotation from
the fully closed position.
(6) After the components have been reassembled, supply air (0.49 MPa) to check that the stopper
cylinder moves smoothly.
