Write-Protect Switch on the SDHC/SDXC
Card
A Slide the write-protect switch upward to enable writing or
deleting.
B Slide the write-protect switch downward to prevent writing
or deleting. (Data in the card are protected.)
Card Slot Status Indicator
The following table shows the respective states of slot A and B.
Formatting (Initializing) SDHC/SDXC Cards
When the following cards are inserted,

FORMATTING

appears. Format the card using the camera
recorder menu.
Unformatted SDHC/SDXC cards
SDHC/SDXC cards formatted under different specifications
Note :
Be sure to format the SDHC/SDXC card on this camera
recorder. SDHC/SDXC cards formatted on a PC and other
peripheral equipment cannot be used on this camera
recorder.
Memo :
To cancel the message display, press the center of the set
lever.
A [!] mark and the message AFORMATB appear at the
remaining media area when an SDHC/SDXC card that
requires formatting is inserted.

Select [Format Media] in the [Media] menu. (

2 Select the slot of the SDHC/SDXC card to be
formatted and press the center of the set lever.
3 The status of the selected SDHC/SDXC card appears.
4 Select [Format] and press the center of the set lever.
5 Formatting starts.
6 Formatting is complete.
ACompleteB appears when formatting is complete.
Memo :
If you do not want to format the card, select [Cancel] and
press the center of the set lever to return to the previous
screen.
If you remove the SDHC/SDXC card during formatting,

Format Error!

appears and the camera recorder returns to
the previous screen.
During formatting, menu operation is unavailable but you can
start recording. However, this is only available when a
recordable SDHC/SDXC card is inserted in the other slot.
Formatting cannot be performed in the following cases.
Recording is in progress on the SDHC/SDXC card to be
formatted.
SDHC/SDXC card is not inserted.
Write-protect switch of the SDHC/SDXC card is set
( is displayed).
Note :
If you format the SDHC/SDXC card, all data recorded on the
card, including video data and setup files, will be deleted.
Lamp Slot Status
Blinks in green Inserted SDHC/SDXC card is being accessed.
(writing/reading data)
Do not turn off the power of the camera
recorder or remove the SDHC/SDXC card.
Lights up in green On standby. Inserted SDHC/SDXC card can
be used for recording or playback.
Light goes out SDHC/SDXC card is not inserted.
An unusable card is inserted.
An SDHC/SDXC card is inserted but a
different slot is selected.
