1. Stop the engine and let it cool.
2. To drain the coolant, open the radia-
tor drain plug and remove radiator
cap. The radiator cap must be
removed to completely drain the
coolant.
3. After all coolant is drained, close the
drain plug.
4. Fill with clean water and cooling
system cleaner.
5. Follow directions for the cleaner
instruction.

Do not remove the radiator cap
when the engine is hot.

just below the port.
Securely tighten the radiator cap.
7. Install the radiator cap securely.
8. Start and operate the engine for
few minutes.
9. Stop the engine and let cool.
10. Check coolant level of recovery
tank and add coolant if neces-
sary.
If water freezes, it can damage the
engine and radiator. It is necessary,
if the outside temperature falls below
0°C (32°F), to remove water after op-
erating or to add anti-freeze to it.
1. Before adding anti-freeze for the

by pouring fresh water and draining
it a few times.
2. The procedure for mixing of water
and anti-freeze differs according
to the make of the anti-freeze and
the ambient temperature, basically
it should be referred to SAE J1034
standard,morespecically alsoto
SAE J814c.
3. Mix the anti-freeze with water, and
thenllintotheradiator.
