12.3 PCIe Adapter Kit (for M.2 and PCIe)
Support for M.2 PCIe and M.2 NVMe type SSDs and mini-PCIe and PCIe express cards is provided
using an optional express card adapter combined with specific interface adapters. The
ExpressCard Adapter is connected to the Falcon’s PCIe slot on the rear of the unit.
Drives Supported:
M.2 AHCI type PCIe solid state drives
M.2 NVMe type PCIe solid state drives
PCIe express cards
Mini-PCIe express cards
The PCIe Adapter Kit includes:
A PCIe ExpressCard adapter
M.2 to PCIe Adapter
Mini-PCIe to PCIe Adapter
M.2 to SATA Adapter (this adapter does not require the use of the express card adapter
and can be connected directly to the standard SATA port on Falcon)
mSATA to SATA Adapter ( this adapter does not require the use of the express card
adapter and can be connected directly to the standard SATA port on Falcon)
12.3.1 M.2 PCIe AHCI or NVMe based SSDs
M.2 PCIe AHCI or NVMe based SSDs require the M.2 to PCIe Adapter (F-ADP-
M.2-PCIE) and the PCI Express Card Adapter (F-ADP-PCI-EXP). Any time the
PCI Express Card Adapter is used, the SSD will only appear as a Source drive.
1. Turn the Falcon off.
