SAFETY GUIDELINES
GENERAL SAFETY RULES
Safety is a combination of common sense, staying alert, and knowing how the mitre
saw works.
• READ and become familiar with this Owner’s Manual. LEARN the tool’s
applications, limitations, and possible hazards.
• AVOID DANGEROUS CONDITIONS. DO NOT use power tools in wet or damp areas,
and DO NOT expose them to rain. Keep work areas well lit.
• DO NOT use power tools in the presence of flammable liquids or gas.
• KEEP the work area clean, uncluttered, and well lit. DO NOT work on floor surfaces
that are slippery because of sawdust or wax.
• KEEP BYSTANDERS AT A SAFE DISTANCE FROM the work area, especially when
the tool is operating. DO NOT allow children near the tool.
• DO NOT FORCE THE TOOL. It will do the job better and safer at the rate for which
it was designed.
•
DRESS FOR SAFETY. DO NOT wear loose clothing, gloves, neckties, or jewellery
(rings, watches, etc.) when operating this tool. These items can get caught in
moving parts and draw the operator in. WEAR non-slip footwear, and tie back long
hair.
• WEAR A FACE MASK OR DUST MASK. Sawing operations produce dust.
• UNPLUG the power cord from the electrical outlet before making adjustments,
changing parts, cleaning, or performing maintenance on this tool.
• KEEP GUARDS IN PLACE AND IN WORKING ORDER.
• AVOID ACCIDENTAL START-UPS. VERIFY that the power switch is in the OFF
position before plugging in the power cord.
• REMOVE ADJUSTING TOOLS. VERIFY that all tools are removed from the mitre saw
before turning it on.
