5.6 BFCS Function Tests
5.6.1 Checking Needle Valve Correspondence
Perform the following operations in the BFCS state:
1. Verify that the flow on the glass tube flowmeter and the main screen is 1±0.5 L/min.
2. Turn the O2 needle valve and verify that the flow on the total flowmeter can exceed 15
L/min.
3. Turn off the O2 needle valve. The flow should decrease to 1±0.5 L/min (that is, only the
basal flow is reserved).
4. Turn the air needle valve and verify that the flow on the total flowmeter can exceed 15
L/min..
5. Turn off the air needle valve. The flow should decrease to 1±0.5 L/min (that is, only the
basal flow is reserved).
5.6.2 Checking Needle Valve Not Closed
1. With the Backup AIR/O2 door in the BFCS state, turn on the O2 needle valve by turning it
about 1/2 rotation and click Disable Backup Flow Control. Verify the prompt message
Manual valves must be closed! Do you want to continue? is displayed.
2. Click the “Yes” button, it cannot disable backup flow control. Close the Backup AIR/O2
door and verify the Backup AIR/O2 door automatically opens again.
3. Turn off the O2 needle valve. Click the “Yes” button, verify it can disable backup flow
control and the Backup AIR/O2 door can be closed.
4. Open the Backup AIR/O2 door in the BFCS state, turn on the AIR needle valve by turning it
about 1/2 rotation and click Disable Backup Flow Control. Verify the prompt message
Manual valves must be closed! Do you want to continue? is displayed.
5. Click the “Yes” button, it cannot disable backup flow control. Close the Backup AIR/O2
door and verify the Backup AIR/O2 door automatically opens again.
6. Turn off the AIR needle valve. Click the “Yes” button, verify it can disable backup flow
control and the Backup AIR/O2 door can be closed.
NOTE
 The gas to be tested must be O2, and the O2 needle valve must be adjusted to the
minimum value.
