4 Performing Parfocal Corrections
Presetting a focus position for each objective allows the parfocal correction function to compensate automatically
for deviations in focus positions caused by switching objectives. Please read "(1) Setting Focus Position" and "(2)
Setting Parfocal Correction Mode" before performing parfocal corrections.
Note:
Parfocal correction function is disabled when the focusing mechanism is at the escape position by the operation of
the ESCAPE button on the right side of the TE2000-E.
Since the focusing mechanisms in the TE2000-U and TE2000-S are not motor-driven, parfocal corrections are
unavailable.
(1) Setting Focus Position
By presetting the focus position for each objective, perfocal correction is properly performed at the time of
switching objectives. Be sure to perform the following procedure before using the parfocal correction function.

Press the MODE key, and the SETTING MENU screen will
appear on the LCD.
Select "More" using the
S key or the T key and then
press the [
] key.

Select "Focus" using the S key or the T key and then
press the [
] key.

Select "FOCUS MODE" using the S key or the T key,
then select “OFF” using the PREV or NEXT key.
Inappropriate focus position data may be retained in
memory. To prevent the objective from contacting the
stage when switching objectives, be sure to disable
parfocal correction mode.

Select "CLEAR" for "FOCUS POSITION" using the S, T,
W, or X key and then press the [
] key.
This clears focus position data for all objectives
(addresses of the nosepiece).

Place the 10x objective in the optical path using the
OBJECTIVE key and focus on the specimen using the
coarse/fine focus knobs.
