3-9 Changing the PLC Operating Mode
The PLC operating mode can be changed to PROGRAM, MONITOR, or RUN mode from
the Ladder Monitor.
Use the following procedure to change the PLC operating mode.
Note
• Carefully check that the system is safe before using the Ladder Monitor to perform
any of the following actions, or before using a CX-Programmer or Programming
Console to perform any of these actions from another node while the Ladder Monitor
is running.
- Changing monitoring data
- Changing the operating mode
- Force setting/resetting bits
- Changing set values or present values
If unspecified persons may start the Ladder Monitor, use a password to prevent
incorrect operation. Refer to 3-14 Using a Password for details on the password
function.
1. Press the Menu Button in the Main Screen and select Mode Change from the menu.
The Proc Mode Change Dialog Box will be displayed.
2. Select Program, Monitor, or Run, and press the Set Button.
A message will be displayed asking for confirmation. To change the operating mode,
press the OK Button. To leave the operating mode unchanged, press the Cancel
Button.
Note: The operating mode may not be changed if other Support Software, such as the
CX-Programmer, is accessing the PLC.
