3-14 Using a Password
A password can be required before the following operations.
• Changing the status of a bit or the contents of a word
• Setting/resetting bits
• Force-setting/resetting bits
• Clearing forced status
• Changing present values
• Changing the set value of a timer or counter
• Changing the operating mode
• Starting the Programming Console function
The operation will be enabled only when the correct password for the level specified with
the Ladder Monitor is entered. The password must be entered each time any of the
above operations is performed.

Setting a Password
1. Start the Ladder Monitor and press the upper two corners of the PT screen at the
same time.
• NS15
Press function key F1 and the upper right corner of the screen.
• NS12/10/8
Press the upper two corners of the screen.
2. The following Password Setting Screen will be displayed. Select the Use Option and
then select the level (1 to 5) of the password that is to be required.
