TONE RING INSPECTION (INTL)
Inspect the tone ring for any broken or missing teeth. Any
damage requires replacement.
Inspect the tone ring outer dimension in multiple spots. If
out of specification replace the tone ring.
Tone Ring Dimensions:
79.4 mm +/- 0.1 mm
TONE RING REPLACEMENT (INTL)
• The tone ring is located on both front and rear
halfshafts. A tone ring requires replacement if it has
any broken or missing teeth. The tone ring itself is a
non replaceable item and requires the halfshaft to be
replaced. The new halfshaft will come with the tone
ring installed.
1. Remove drive shaft. Refer to Front Drive Shaft
Removalpage 7.29 or Rear Drive Shaft Removalpage
7.31
2. Replace the faulty tone ring halfshaft with the new
halfshaft. Refer to Inner Plunging Joint / Boot
Replacementpage 7.37
3. Reinstall drive shaft onto vehicle. Take care when
installing to prevent damage to tone ring. Refer to
Front Drive Shaft Installationpage 7.30 or Rear Drive
shaft Installationpage
WHEEL SPEED SENSOR REPLACE (INTL)
1. Locate the wheel speed sensor from the wheel well.
2. Remove the fastener retaining the wheel speed
sensor to the Wheel speed sensor bracket.
3. Pull the sensor out of the bracket.
4. Follow the Electrical connector up to the HECU and
unplug it.
NOTICE
Note the routing of wiring for reinstallation.
