1.3.2) Pressure measurement at “first installation“
The fuel system must be checked at "first installation"
1)
of the 912 iS
engine. A single measurement of the fuel pressure in a particular position
is required by the engine manufacturer. This fuel pressure measurement
deviates from the measurement position of the standard fuel pressure
measurement (see IM Chapter 73-00-00;1.3.1). The fuel pressure sensor
has to be positioned at the entrance to the fuel rail. For this measurement
a calibrated measuring tool must be used. An appropriate verification must
be available by the aircraft manufacturer.
NOTE: Remove this sensor after prototype/technical-release pro-
cess.
1)
“first installation“ = for aircraft in prototype/technical-release process.
1.4) Fuel lines
Safety
Inlet line Connection thread on the right-hand injection line (Cyl. 1/3):
M14x1.5 or AN-6 (9/16-18 UNF). The inlet line must have an inner diame-
ter of minimum 7,5 mm (0.3 in.) (AN-6 or 3/8“) .
Due to different installation situations it is possible, that
the fuel pressure deviates from the specified values in
the Operators Manual (installation positions, filters,
tank system, etc.).
The limits of uel pressure at the fuel pressure regulator
(see chapter 73-00-00 section: pressure measurement
at "first installation") must be observed as described in
the Operators Manual.
Non-compliance can result in serious injuries or
death!
Certification according to the latest regulations, such
as FAR or EASA, must be conducted by the aircraft
or fuselage manufacturer.
To prevent problems with vapour formation, all the
fuel lines must be insulated against heat in the engine
compartment, routed at distance from hot engine
components, without kinks and protected appropri-
ately.
