6.15.3 Tightness of Sabroe equipment
All pressurised equipment leaving the Sabroe Factory has been tested for tightness by means
of either technique C.1 (bubble test by immersion) or C.2 (bubble test by liquid application) in
accordance with EN 1779.
This ensures a leak rate below 10-4Pa*m3/s. Hence there will be some refrigerant leaking from
the equipment, and it is the obligation of the plant operator to ensure sufficient ventilation in
the machine room to keep concentrations below the limits stated by local authorities. Actual
leakage will depend on type and size of the equipment, refrigerant, operating conditions and
other factors, such as maintenance.
