Technical description
4.2 Marine application
When installing a unit on a ship, the behaviour of the ship at sea must be taken into considera-
tion and thus the inclination of the unit.
The compressor unit is designed to meet the most common requirements from the classifica-
tion companies assuming the unit is installed with the motor/compressor shaft in the fore-and-
aft direction of the ship, see Fig. 14 and Fig. 15. (A larger inclination of the unit in this direction
will cause problems with the oil separator in terms of oil level shutdown for instance).
The requirements are stated in Table 4.

Depending on their purposes, the units will have different motors, oil coolers, etc. and therefore
the centre of gravity may vary a lot.
We strongly recommend checking the centre of gravity and the tipping angle of the ac-
tual unit.
If the tipping angle is too small, precautions must be taken to ensure the unit is safe.
