Changing the needle
We recommend placing fabric or paper over the needle plate in order to prevent the needle from falling in through
any holes in the needle plate.
1 Turn the handwheel towards yourself to raise the point of the needle higher than the needle
plate.
* The needle plate screwdriver will not turn while the needle is raised to its highest position.
2 Hold the needle in one hand, loosen the needle
clamp screw with the needle plate screwdriver,
and then remove the needle.
* Loosen the needle clamp screw until the needle can be
removed.
3 Position the flat surface of the needle towards the
back of the machine, and then insert the needle
until it contacts the pin.
* Good sewing results cannot be achieved if the needle does not
contact the pin.
Before changing the needle, use the main power switch to turn off the sewing machine.
Not doing so could cause injuries.
Be sure to dispose of broken needles in a safe manner.
