When the fabric cannot be removed from the sewing machine
If the fabric cannot be removed from the sewing machine, the thread may have become entangled under the
needle plate. In this case, do not pull on the fabric with excessive force. Doing so could cause damage.
1 Raise the presser foot and needle.
If the needle is in the fabric, turn the handwheel
towards the back of the machine to get the needle
out of the fabric, then cut the thread close to the
needle.
2 Remove the bobbin case cover.
3 Cut out the tangled thread.
* If the fabric can be removed:
Go to “Feed dog and hook maintenance” (page 98).
* If the fabric cannot be removed:
Go to step
4.
For safety, use the main power switch to turn off the sewing machine, and then remove
the power plug from the outlet.
Not doing so could cause injuries.
